Brian Henry

Working as the news and sports director for local radio station, WGSB, is originally what brought Brian Henry to the Fox Valley. He was born on Long Island, moved to Mukwonago, Wisconsin as a young child and eventually settled in South Milwaukee. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, with a degree in Marketing and Broadcasting Communications, Brian moved to Geneva and pursued his dream of working in broadcasting. Hired by the great sportscaster, Jack Brickhouse and his wife Nelda, Brian worked for WGSB for 6 years before a change in station ownership caused Brian to transition towards his marketing skills and pursue a career in Real Estate.

Brian began his Real Estate career with Coldwell Banker in 1981, staying there until 1990. He then worked as the Sales Manager for Westway Construction Corp in St. Charles for one year. In 1991, he joined RE/MAX, working for RE/MAX Professionals East and eventually RE/MAX Excels.

Last year, Brian was chosen as the 2016 Realtor of the Year, an award which recognizes those who have served not only the real estate profession but also their communities through participation in civic activities, including service clubs, charity, fraternal or religious groups.

Brian is extremely active in the community. He is currently on the board of the St. Charles History Museum, in addition to serving as co-chair of fundraising for the museum. For the Tri-Cities Salvation Army, Brian serves on the advisory board, helping with fundraising and operations decisions. He is the President of the Tri-Cities Exchange Club and is also involved in fundraising for Fox Valley Christian Action/Riverwoods Family Campus, an organization which helps underprivileged children. He has been the Chairman of Professional Standards Committee for the Realtor Association and also served as the Director for the Realtor Association of the Fox Valley.

In his free time, Brian enjoys playing basketball and golf –his favorite achievement on the course is a double eagle at Hughes Creek Golf Club. He also loves traveling to tropical destinations (“like Maui!”) and is a huge Blackhawks fan.

Brian continues to use his broadcasting communications skills, acting as emcee for various events in the area. For over ten years, he has been emceeing the roast at the annual RE/MAX Christmas party. This November, he will emcee the St. Charles Lighting of the Lights Ceremony for the fifth straight year.

Brian and his wife Mary have been married for 44 years and have a daughter, son, and two grandchildren. After living in the Timbers neighborhood in St. Charles for 19 years, Brian feels a strong connection to that area, still volunteering during the Christmas luminaries sale and the 4th of July flag distribution. Brian works with both buyers and sellers throughout the Fox Valley and views his clients as part of the team. He works hard to make the experience enjoyable, fun and informative.
