Mary Dwyer

Being an advocate for buyers and sellers is what Mary Dwyer loves most about working in real estate.  The experience of buying her first home found her without a lot of guidance from friends or family; she wasn’t sure how to buy a house or even how much house to buy.  That experience made Mary want to help others, making the real estate process clearer and giving guidance throughout the entire transaction.

Mary particularly loves working with the senior community, helping a generation that generally does not want to work through text messages and e-signatures, the typical activity in today’s mobile-dominated environment.   She makes it a point to do business in person with her senior clients, taking the extra time to thoroughly explain the process.  She is especially dedicated to making the experience easy, painless and understandable.

Mary grew up on the South Side of Chicago and attended Mother McAuley High School.  She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Communications.  Following an internship in London with R.R. Donnelly, Mary worked for their customer service team, acting as the liaison between the sales and printing departments.  After raising her children, Mary worked in Corporate Healthcare Marketing and Admissions for the South Elgin Rehabilitation Center.  In 2011, she joined RE/MAX Excels.

Married for 28 years, Mary and her husband, Tim, have three grown children.   They have lived in Peoria, IL and Seattle, WA and have resided in Geneva since 2003.  As a family, they love to spending time together on the lake or doing anything outdoors.

Giving back to the community is important to Mary.  She volunteers at Hands of Hope (formerly Fox Valley Hospice) and the Geneva Chamber Christmas Walk.  She is also currently serving as Secretary on the Women’s Council of Realtors.

Educating her clients is essential to Mary.  “Preparation is key” and her list of “39 Easy Ways to Help your Home Sell Faster” is just one of many tools Mary uses to assist her sellers.  Another key element of her process is meeting with the appraiser at every one of her listings and supplying them with the necessary information to support the contract sales price of the home.

Living and working in the area, Mary is well-acquainted with the Fox Valley and all that it has to offer.   She works with both buyers and sellers in Geneva, Batavia, St. Charles, Elburn and North Aurora and has helped numerous first time home buyers find the right home that fits their budgets, needs, and circumstances.  Mary has attained the ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative) and MRP (Military Relocation Professional) designations.
